The maneki neko (beckoning cat) is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman) which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. Originating from the Edo period around 1856. In modern times, they are usually made of ceramic or plastic. The figurine depicts a cat traditionally a calico Japanese bobtail.

Blue is the color of the true natural birthstones of those born as the world awaits the vernal equinox and spring (February 19–March 19)
